Uni Land is the first company operating in Land Banking, House Building, Renewable Energies listed on the Italian Stock Market. The beginning in the core business is dated at 1960. Land Banking involves the trading of land, which is generally purchased without building permits at a very low price (the land is solely for agricultural use) and the land is subsequently sold at a higher price after the building permits have been granted by the Public Administration (PA). In short, Land Banking covers the management of the process of changing the land use, from agricultural to residential or commercial/industrial destination. Uni Land is also involved in the House Building business once the building permits have been obtained, in the residential and in the retail destination. Recently, the Group created a Renewable Energies business unit, focusing on photovoltaic and wind sources. The company goal will be increase land value through the construction of plants ready to produce energy from renewable sources. The Group developed also a real estate franchising sector, arranging together around 200 branches from several small groups with well established expertise. Uni Land owns, a the moment, a real estate portfolio of around 8.000.000 sqm and buildable spaces of around 750.000 sqm. The most relevant assets are located in Emilia Romagna (Bologna, Ravenna, Ferrara, Imola), but the recent developing processes are located in other regions in centre and north Italy. Recently, the Group reduced the presence in the residential building business. Last real estate assets value, estimated by independent appraisal, was Euro 626 mln (30/06/2009). During 2008, the Group acquired the 50% undivided property of agricultural plots and buildings to one of the two heirs of the Eredità Borghese. Main shareholder is Mr. Alberto Mezzini through Alberto Mezzini Holding Srl, Traghetto Srl and Cem Lux Sàrl.
